We built and scaled the technology behind Mwasalat Misr, one of Egypt’s largest public-transport operators.
Overview
Transportation in Cairo, home to over 22 million residents, needed a serious upgrade. Mwasalat Misr launched in 2014 to modernise public transit with clean, reliable, eco-friendly buses, and partnered with Rubikal to build the technology behind it.
What we did
In 2021 we began building a fully-functional cross-platform mobile app: live route tracking and scheduling across Cairo, trip management, in-app support, and a scan-and-earn loyalty program. A Java and Ruby on Rails backend powers native Swift and Kotlin apps, balancing security with a distinctive interface.
